"Fitofarma" EOOD has commenced the implementation of project BG16RFOP002-2.040-0618-C01 "Activities for improving the production capacity and increasing the competitiveness of Fitofarma EOOD" under the Operational Programme "Innovation and Competitiveness", implemented with the financial support of the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.

The main objective of the project is to expand the company's capacity for the production of soft seamless capsules to meet market demand, as well as to strengthen its position as a reliable manufacturer of high-efficiency vitamins, minerals, and other supplements.

The specific objectives of the project are:

- achieving productivity growth by optimizing the production processes for soft gelatin capsules;

- creating the opportunity to produce and offer capsules made from plant-based gelling material;

- improving the quality of manufactured products in accordance with identified demand and the highest standards;

- increasing production cost-efficiency.

To achieve the project goals, a complete production line for soft gelatin capsules will be purchased within the framework of the project, which will cover all technological steps, ensuring that capsules can be produced quickly, to a high quality, and efficiently, including the use of plant-based gelatin.

Given all the steps and operations for the production of soft gelatin capsules covered by the new equipment, it is expected that, thanks to the investments made under the project, the company's production capacity for soft capsules will triple. This, combined with the created technological capability to produce capsules from plant-based gelatin, will allow "Fitofarma" EOOD to significantly expand the production and supply of its main product groups, effectively taking advantage of the identified market potential of vegan products.

The total budget of the project amounts to 600,000 BGN, of which 70% is grant funding. The project is expected to be completed within 12 months.
