With the implementation of this project, "Fitopharma" EOOD aims to introduce to the market a new series of highly effective products for the prevention and treatment of various health problems, featuring an innovative composition based on krill oil and other functional water-soluble and fat-soluble additives, offered in the form of stable soft gelatin capsules that are easily digestible and pleasant to taste. 

In this way, the company strives to increase its competitiveness in the market niche of krill oil products, which has shown steady growth in recent years and holds significant development potential. To realize this goal, it is necessary to create suitable technological conditions for the production of innovative krill oil-based soft capsules with the desired quality and in compliance with good manufacturing practices.

The main goal of the project is the introduction of soft gelatin capsules with an innovative composition based on krill oil and other functional water-soluble and fat-soluble ingredients, which have a wide scope of application, high efficiency, and quality, surpassing all known alternative products. 

The specific objectives of the project are: 

- Overcoming current technological limitations and creating the necessary conditions for the production, with sufficient capacity, of stable and physically robust capsules with an innovative composition featuring high content of krill phospholipids; 

- Expanding the product range of "Fitopharma" EOOD with a new series of functional krill-based products intended for the treatment and prevention of various health problems; 

- Strengthening the company's image as a reliable manufacturer of high-quality innovative krill oil products, which should lead to growth in revenue and financial results.

In order to implement the innovation, which is the subject of the project, the main project activity includes the purchase of a new type of modern production line for soft gelatin capsules with the necessary higher level of automation and precision, featuring servo-control and a latest-generation camera-based visual inspection section. The new line will ensure that the mixture remains homogeneous when subjected to shear stress, remains liquid under these conditions, and does not undergo sedimentation, crystallization, or phase separation. Consequently, the mixture will retain useful properties for working under shear conditions, which may be experienced during the preparation of oral capsules, and the produced capsules will be robust and stable.

The activity will be implemented according to the following steps: 

1. Conducting a contractor selection procedure (from the 1st to the 3rd month) 

2. Signing a delivery contract (3rd month) 

3. Execution of the production line delivery contract (from the 3rd to the 15th month) 

4. Installation and commissioning of the equipment. Signing of a delivery handover protocol (15th month).

The total budget of the project is BGN 2,200,000, of which BGN 425,000 is EU funding and BGN 75,000 is national funding.

The implementation of the project is scheduled to be completed by 10.03.2026.
